Shannon Craig was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. There she was instilled with an awe of the powerful, raw beauty that the scenery around her held. Growing up in a highly creative family, Shannon’s creative aspirations have always been supported and encouraged.

When her family moved to Ottawa, she began her art education at Canterbury High School, completing the Triple Credit Arts Program. Upon graduation from high school, she continued her art training at both Sheridan College and the painting and drawing program at the Ontario College of Art and Design.

Shannon has traveled extensively and gets much of her inspiration from the powerful beauty and visual structure of the Canadian landscape. Through her use of traditional
Oils and acrylic paints, she captures the visceral and emotional intensity of the landscapes she paints.
